Approaching 30

Well, the glorious weather continues here in Lavendon which means that Jules and I have spent another weekend in the garden. It's amazing, we've been working away now for weeks, tidying up, planting out and weeding but the garden still looks like a building site.

The next few weeks are going to be busy, next week we're recieving delivery of a tonne and a half of gravel, we're getting new windows installed in the house and new carpet laid inside. It's all making me very nervous however as builders don't generally have an appreciation of the plants they are treading on. The weekend after my father in law and I are going to be putting down some decking ahead of my 30th birthday party!

I can't believe I'm going to be 30 - I don't feel old enough!

Horticulture 101

We've finally done it, yesterday Julia and I put down the money for a distance learning course in horticulture. We'll be spending the next 18 months mugging up on all things green and planty.

This has been a long time coming, we both love the garden but in the grand scheme of things know very little about plants and horticulture. The course we've chosen will prepare us for the RHS Level 2 certificate which we hope to take towards the end of next year. Exciting stuff.
