Still too cold for Veg

It was another lovely day today. I'd intended to plant out my Potatoes this weekend but the soil is still a bit too cold so they're going to have to wait. Instead I spent the day repotting my Purple Sprouting Broccoli seedlings and Red Onions ahead of putting them into the cold frame. Nothing too strenuous there.

I also had a bit of a dig in the garden, clearing some weeds and replanting some of the shrubs that I had moved into pots for winter. In my garden if you leave anything unattended for a period of time some kind of weed will slaughter it, so moving my favourite shrubs and plants to pots for winter is fast becoming a tradition.

It's funny - lot's of my friends think it's strange that a 29 year old can find so much happiness in a greenhouse. All I can say is that in my opinion there is no better place to go to forget about work, the world and any troubles that you might have. It's such a great way to clear your mind and escape.

Digging

It's been another glorious day today so what better way to enjoy the spring sunshine than a day in the garden. Jules and I spent the day today digging over what will very soon be our vegetable garden. It's been pretty hard work and given the Bind Weed invasion that we're suffering from it was also very time consuming.

We're planning to plant quite a lot this year. We have a load of seeds to plant out. So far we have Onions, Carrots, Brocolli, Red Onions, Beetroot, Shallots and my Potatoes are sitting chitting in the greenhouse ahead of time. We've also bought some new Raspberry, Blackberry and Gooseberry plants to add a bit of extra interest and keep the soil ticking over. For inside the greenhouse we have our normal selection of Tomatos.
